What's so good about developing an attitude of gratitude?
Check out the bottom of this article for the answer.....
Lets get started, here's how:
Develop the habit of devoting 5 - 10 minutes (at least, more if you can!) to thinking about your 'circle of gratitude'. Start with your family, your children, your friends, workmates etc, and work your way through them all, really feeling the feelings of gratitude when you think of each one in turn. The more you focus on who and what you are grateful for in this way the more you will be aware of how much you actually do have, this leads on to the next habit....
Once you begin to understand the law of attraction, which states that 'like attracts like', you will know that the more you focus on what you want, the more likely you will attract more of what you want into your life. Train yourself to focus on the good things around you, (yes there are good things, look closely:)) You will notice that you feel better, and you get better results.
This can also be true in reverse, think about the times when you start your day in a bad mood, you feel grumpy, and stressed, you tell yourself it is going to be an awful day and sure enough the day goes from bad to worse....:(
Shift your focus, get grateful, and you will attract more.
By writing daily in your gratitude journal, you will start to notice how much the small things in your life mean so much more. You will begin to see your life from a different perspective, that of abundance rather than scarcity. It is amazing how once things are written down, they somehow become more real, more concrete, and when you revisit these notes you intensify the feeling associated with them.
Show your gratitude to others around you, by acknowledging what they do for you, by smiling more, or just allowing yourself to be a friendlier person. Notice any differences; record these in your journal.
Research has shown that your brain does not know the difference between what is real and what is vividly imagined. With this concept in mind, use visualisation techniques to help train your brain to go for what you want.
For example- try this trick... Close your eyes and imagine you have a half of a lemon in your hand. See the lovely soft yellow of the skin, hold it up to your nose and sniff. Smell the strong citrus tang, and feel the puckered skin of the fruit! I bet you notice your mouth fill with saliva!
This simple example demonstrates the power of your imagination! Just imagine how this will work when you have a crystal clear focus, your brain will be turbo charged to get to what you want!
