These 10 simple tips will help you to feel more energised, happy and productive as you flow through your day.

1. BREATHE

Take the time each day to enjoy 10 nice, deep breaths, right down into your belly. This ensures full oxygenation of your body & makes sure you expel old stale air from the base of your lungs. By giving your body the oxygen it needs you enable it to do its’ magic & serve you in the best way. You’ll feel immediately more centred, focused & balanced. A nice reward for a few moments of stillness!

2. SMILE

Smiles beget more smiles. It’s amazing how even when you feel under alot of stress, a simple smile can permeate your whole body & begin to relax you. When you’re relaxed everything is different.

3. DRINK WATER

Too frequently we spend our time dehydrated & expect to still function at our peak. Yet, with our body being almost 80% water, it’s hardly surprising that when we dehydrate, we become very sluggish. Ever feel like you’re just ‘peeling’ out of bed in the morning? Chances are, your water intake has alot to do with that. Aim to have at least 2L of water a day – & no, tea & coffee don’t count, they actually dehydrate you further. Aim to never feel thirsty – that’s a warning that you’re quite dry on the inside.

4. LAUGH

Laughter is one of the greatest medicines of all. Laughing makes you take nice deep breaths so you get lots of oxygen to fuel your body’s processes. After a really good laugh, things generally seem brighter. What are some things that are guaranteed to make you laugh? It might be spending time with a particular person, watching a certain TV program, reading a favourite book… Create your list and do one or more of them when you want a lift!

5. GET SOME EXERCISE

It doesn’t have to be a 2 hour gym epic to count. The shortest walk can make all the difference. You’ll be oxygenating your body & clearing your mind. You’ll feel refreshed & re-focused. Your body will thank you.

6. TREAT YOURSELF

When was the last time you had a massage, a facial or some other indulgence just for you? Treating yourself honours yourself & you ARE worth it. Again, your body will thank you!

7. RANDOM ACTS OF KINDNESS

The expression goes that ‘the gift is in the giving’. Doing even the smallest thing for another can give you a real boost. Look for opportunities where you can lend a hand & make a difference.

8. POSITIVE SELF TALK

You can consciously create a positive focus for the day. Tell yourself it is going to be a great day & that’s often how it will be. When you catch yourself in a less than positive focus, reverse what you’re telling yourself & try declaring the opposite.

9. GRATITUDE

Brainstorm a list of all that you’re grateful for in your life. It’s a super way to lift how you feel when you re-connect with what you already have & are enjoying.

10. 10/10 MOMENTS

What are the simple things that you would class as 10 out of 10 moments – soaking in a hot bath?, taking a walk?, hanging out with a loved one?, listening to your favourite music?... Brainstorm a list and add at least one of these experiences into each day. Keep adding to your list – look for the 10/10 moments in your life, and enjoy them!
