My clients seem to share one thing in common which, I guess, is why they seek me out. They all want something more out of life and, in fact, they want it badly enough however, there is something getting in the way of them achieving their desired goal.
What do you do when you know something is going to benefit you yet you keep falling back into your same old patterns?
What do you do when you are left feeling like a failure because you have no stickability?
What do you do when you know you want something yet you are unable to achieve it?
For example, have you tried over and over to lose weight and get healthy and, because you know you really want to succeed this time, you go all out. You may have decided to spend a large amount of money on a gym membership or a personal trainer or, you may go hard at it on your own determined to fit in the time and make the effort to exercise regularly and eat well only to go at it for a few days or even a few weeks and then give up? Do you ever wonder what is it that is stopping you from achieving your goal whether it is more energy and vitality, a fit healthy body or being able to shop in whatever store you choose and wear what you love?
I know you want to succeed because you want to be healthy and free of disease. You want to be a good example for your children. You want to look and feel great. You want to feel attractive. You want to have more energy and, you want to be able to move with ease and get involved in life and…………………………who wouldn’t want all of this and more? As they say, life is for living, life is for loving and life is for laughing!
The simple truth is this. Just like you get blockages in a drain or blockages in your arteries you also get blockages in your mind and when you give up it is because the roadblock in your mind has shown up again and you are unable to find a way around it. You are unable to climb over it and you cannot go through it because you do not know why it is there or, even what it represents.
Your mind will sabotage your efforts, your mind will ensure you do not succeed and your mind will control you……………….. if you let it. So, how do you stop this constant self sabotage? How do you take over the controls of your mind? How do you create success for yourself?
The first step is realising that you are responsible for you which means that you no longer blame others or situations for your downfall. You no longer make excuses that are weak and unsubstantial and you start right now to take responsibility for all that you do, all that you say and all that you think. This is commonly called living your life at ‘cause’ and once you are able to do this you will be able to take your power back and start creating the life you want.
Of course, there is more to it than just taking responsibility but like anything good in life, it takes some effort and you must master this first step before moving onto step 2. If you are used to playing the victim as I was a few years back then this first step can prove to be a challenge. You see years ago when I played the victim I did it very well and I was a brilliant leading lady. I was a true Diva and my performance deserved to win many awards and my life was a series of failures. I had a series of failed relationships, two failed marriages, a few failed careers and I was a huge failure when it came to finding true happiness and the peace I craved until I made the decision to stop playing the victim.
If you are sitting reading this and there is something you want to achieve yet it has so far eluded you, I challenge you to ask yourself whether or not you are taking responsibility for your results, for your life. For instance, does your exercise routine or your healthy eating habits go by the wayside because you have no time, or you have too much work to do or, you are too busy running after the children, or you are too tired or, you do not have the money? Because if any of this sounds familiar then you are living your life at 'effect' and not taking responsibility and, living in this way will not serve your or support you in achieving the life you want.
So much of your energy is being consumed with excuses and negative thoughts when this energy could be used to get you to where you want to go. This energy could be used to prevent you from getting sick, this energy could be used to get healthy and this energy could allow you to get the most out of your life by doing something positive towards achieving your ultimate goal or dream. Come on let’s get serious here;
Take over the controls of your mind and, your life. Be the driver of your bus because only you know what direction you want to go in. Stand up tall and empower yourself. Take a deep breath and demand to have your power back. Decide right now to live the dream because there is no greater feeling then that sense of purpose knowing that you will get over the roadblocks, you will find a way over them or through them no matter what because you are a force to be reckoned with. Give yourself permission to achieve what your heart desires and know that I am right beside you conspiring for your success!
