People often perceive counselling as such a major emotional step and thus it can be such a threatening thing, at Choice Life Consulting we say that counselling does not have to be frightening. We see a spectrum of people from someone who wants to just talk an everyday issue through in one session to people who wants to deal with an issue that has been causing them distress for years, which might take a few counselling sessions.
We also see people who want to deal with a specific issue and once they have this area in their lives more balanced they come back after a time period to deal with an issue or two that they are then ready to deal with. We therefore present counselling as a process that you structure in a manner that suits you to obtain your wellbeing goal/s.
About Valeska Campion
Valeska is a senior personal and relationship consultant at Choice Life Consulting. She is a trained counsellor/coach with ten years experience in the fields of loss, grief, anxiety, stress, depression and anger. She focuses on the whole self, lifestyle balance and opening up a person’s ability to cope and make new choices, using a variety of approaches, including Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), Imago Relationship Therapy, Mindfulness, Motivational Techniques and Psychodynamic concepts.
Valeska draws on her life experiences and works collaboratively with clients to promote awareness, and make changes around their behaviour – to lighten and enlighten. She uses compassion and kindness to facilitate this guided discovery process.
