Mental Agility Training using NLP Working with people to develop a focused and confident mindset is quite possibly my favorite part of my work.
To be specific, the methods I use work with the brains ‘neuroplasticity’; the brains ability to re-shape/re-wire to create different ‘neural-frames’ through which to ‘see’, perform and achieve… That’s all jargon, so read through the info below and check out the short-but-sweet examples.
In essence, it’s about training your mind to operate in an optimal way, and the amount of change you can create in your life through ‘changing your mind’ is incredible!
Here are some examples:
There are many examples of how NLP can increase mental agility, here are a couple:
Athletes
I’ve had great results working with athletes to achieve mental toning and increased focus. One Mountain Runner shaved SIX MINUTES off her fastest uphill time after her first NLP session with me. She went on to win her tournament. Another athlete new to Triathlons loathed running. Now at lunchtimes it’s his preferred form of exercise.
Leaders & Speaking
Another common area I’ve assisted in is helping leaders develop the confidence to speak to large audiences. Two managers come to mind. They previously needed to stave-off anxiety before speaking. They now relish speaking and one in particular actively seeks out opportunities to present.
Since 2003 I’ve developed a huge toolbox from which to draw the right strategies, exercises, tools and techniques to help people get what they need. All of the them operate with the brain in mind so that the results are sustainable and life changing.
In terms of mental agility training, NLP (Neurolinguistic Programming) is core to my approach, so what is NLP? Put simply, it’s the study of how language changes the brain and how to use it to change the brain in super-useful ways. It’s a bit like recoding un-useful strings of neurons in the brain with useful coding so that you perform better now and into the future.
