Body Work with Alison Revell

The Bowen Technique (Bowtech) is a soft tissue remedial therapy that addresses health issues - physical, mental and emotional - in the one series of treatments.

Depending on each individual's capacity to heal, the Bowen Technique can assist recovery from many conditions - from acute accident and sport injuries through to many chronic conditions.

It can assist with back, neck and shoulder pain, sciatica and pelvic area problems, digestive or bowel issues, ear infections, migraines, chronic fatigue syndrome, OOS/RSI and structural or postural issues.  It can also help with that general "run-down" feeling that we can all experience on our treadmill of busy daily life.

Visit www.bowtech.com for more information on Bowen Technique

Benefits of Body Work

  • Bowen is gentle & non-invasive
  • Bowen does not use forceful manipulation
  • Bowen is a wonderful treatment option for those in chronic painBowen is effective for all ages and stages of life - from babies through to elderly
  • Bowen moves can be performed through light clothing, so undressing is not required

Training

  • I am a Registered Professional member of NZ Bowen Therapy Incorporated
  • I hold a Diploma in Bowen Therapeutic Technique from the Bowen Therapy Academy of Australia
  • I hold a National Diploma in Homeopathy from the Wellington College of Homeopathy

As a Bowen practitioner, I listen to the client and then I listen to the body.

A Bowen treatment generally takes about an hour, though some sessions may be shorter.  I will ask a client to explain their presenting complaint to me.  We will discuss this and other generalities to give me some background.  Based on this information, I will decide on the manner of the Bowen treatment for that session.

Bowen clients are generally treated lying on a massage table with the Bowen moves being made through light clothing.  If lying flat is not possible (such as in pregnancy), the treatment may be done with the client seated in a chair.

About Alison Revell

I have long held an interest in complementary health modalities and wondered what they were all about.  It wasn't until I experienced first-hand how powerful the healing response in the body can be with just a 'nudge' from a Bowen treatment or a Homeopathic remedy that I really sat up and took some notice.  Personal experience is the only way to know for sure.  I urge you to try it, especially if you feel you have exhausted other options and you are at your wits end.

I'm available on Mondays and Tuesdays in Otaki on the Kapiti Coast.

Important Note: I am bound by strict Codes of Ethics in both modalities in which I work.  All information given by a client during a consultation is confidential and all client case notes are kept secure.
